Laser and Lights : Homemade Dog Toys
You might have to play in the dark in order to get this dog toy going. A lot of pets including dogs, cats and birds like to follow the movements with their eyes. This movement doesn't necessarily have to be something physical as dogs will often try to chase flashlight beams, especially when it is concentrated down into a more narrow beam than that of a normal flashlight.
Some people will go out of their way to purchase a "laser light" beam such as the Miracle Beam Laser Pet Toy
For extra dog fun, you can try using more than one penlights. The dog will often try to catch both of the beams at once. Remember that a dog can get easiliy frustrated or bored by not being able to physically catch something, so sometimes it's best to combine this type of light toy with some physical game such as Fetch the Stick or Tennis Ball.
Warning: Never shine a penlight or laser directly into a dogs' eyes. You can do irreparable damage to a pet's eyes with prolonged direct exposure of the light especially if it's at a short distance. As always, please supervise your dog to make sure nothing goes wrong.
