More Updates

I just went through and added people who submitted their listings from January… yes, only 3 months behind now! I know many of you are laughing at how long it takes to do this, but it does take a bit of time to cross-reference, proofread and enter everything.

One reason it has taken so long, is that I’m changing the way the piano resources data is entered and appeared. Previously, the descriptions, phone, address, web, email, etc. and everything was in a single field. This has made it very hard with consistency - and also it is not very compatible with some new functionality ideas I’m mulling over.

I’ve finally got a setup where I’m entering listing data in separate fields - however, the old listings are all over the place. One of these days, I’m going to have to go in and change all 1000+ existing piano entries so they’re set up the same way - UGH!

By the way, I’ve decided for any new piano listings the email address will no longer be shown. This is just because some people have complained about it, and I agree. Old listings will still have it until I get a chance to change them. So make sure to include a phone number.

Also, with websites - the deal is that in order for me to list it you NEED to give me a link from your website to The Piano Resource Directory website. It’s called a reciprocal link. I think some people were confused by this. It’s standard directory etiquette - especially for a free one like this. Just add a link on the “links” (or other) page of your website, and tell me what page that it’s on.

I’ll try to add the remaining people in the queue sometime soon, knock on wood.
