A Little Teaser (Cassette Tape)
 Shmatness! Here's The Lil' Kickers coming at ya full force with western based folk ditties. A Little Teaser, which rides in at GUN041 of the Popgun tape catalog, is filled with slow n' sultry pseudo-Americana to please the most jaded country palette. The duo of Rachel (Curly Girl, Cha Cha Cha) and Raoul (Test Pilot, Red Pony Clock, Casino Ashtrays, Cha Cha Cha, Summer Flings and numerous others) tracks down a long and dusty trail with muted trumpet in hand and reverbed electric guitar over the shoulder. The country lament "Combat Jerk", which might have been performed in any saloon of the wild west, deals playfully with the classic themes of love and combat. Shmat digs the sad little quips from Raoul's muted trumpet that slot in perfectly in the spaces between Rachel's down n' out verses. "Anna and The Sun" follows up in the same vein musically, but this is a somewhat strange metaphorical tale of a gal shooting out the sun with a slingshot, Thelma and Louise style. Or maybe not, you decide! In any case, if you're tired of the same ol' White Stripes beating percusively into your head at night, hitch your heart along with this fine little folk release and take a vacation with the Lil Kickers as they drive their covered wagon across the prairie hills of the west.
